After many years of hands on experience managing my own projects and home design I decided to launch De Beauvoir Design in 2014 in London to share my knowledge and experience with others. It is something that I really enjoy doing, in contrast to many who find the whole process extremely stressful and daunting. Having previously worked in the male dominated area of finance, I am used to working with men, and as a result liaising with trades/builders is a smooth process for me. This is quite often an area many struggle. Having a Project Manager with the skills to converse between trades & client makes the process smoother and hassle free, effectively I can absorb the emotions of both parties and in turn relay a professional unbiased solution. My aim is to take the stress out of your home design and add to the enjoyment of your new space. I am passionate about keeping up to date with the latest technology & design concepts, such as building construction, lighting, glazing, insulation, heating, internal design configuration, interior design. I am always on the look out for more exciting, innovative and stylish products/solutions. My inspiration comes from around the World. Living in London provides constantly evolving and up to date ideas, this alongside with having lived in Sydney, Australia and spent time in New Zealand has given me a sense of the different aspects to our homes that are important to our wellbeing. In particular paying attention to how light and space work together. Lighting - both natural and artificial is something that really excites me, as is good design which should be timeless irregardless of the style; contemporary/traditional. If I had to describe myself I would say professional, personable, organised, detail orientated, creative yet practical, driven to achieve the highest possible outcome.
